Anthony Pateras (b.1979) is a composer, pianist & electroacoustic musician. Since the late 90s, he’s created an extensive, variegated body of work that seeks unique syntheses of material, form & style.

Pateras has collaborated in the Pateras/Baxter/Brown & North of North trios, the piano-drums duo PIVIXKI, the experimental hip-hop quartet Beta Erko, the ensembles Thymolphthalein & Twitch, and the rock bands Sulla Lingua & tētēma.

Completing a PhD in 2008, his thesis explored nexuses of composition, improvisation & electronics, constituents which renew and recombine in his ongoing practice.

Anthony has lived in Melbourne, Perth, Brussels, Berlin, Sydney, Stuttgart & Vevey, and is now based in Castlemaine, Australia.
